DEFINITION
The cultural animation is defined as a number of operations undertaken by a person or a group of persons in order to readjust or change the human behavior or its environment in an educative and cultural frame according to well determined plans.

The animation's pillars are :

  • the animator : he acts and trains;

  • the subject   : benefits from the animation;
  • the program : the animation content;
  • space and time: animation's functional frame;
  • means : material and pedagogical.

ADMISSION
The access to the first year of the first cycle is possible through one of the two following modes:

a) the academic orientation system (baccalaureate all sections). It has to be said that in addition to the score, the access is conditioned by the success in an aptitude's test. The applicants having passed the following options are advantaged: theater, artistic education, and music or computing.

b) The orientation competitive examination  is open to the students who had their baccalaureate in the two years preceding the examination. It comprises the following tests:

  • Oral test;

  • Test of creative aptitude;
  • Medical examination.

REQUIRED SKILLS

  • General culture and knowledge of the Tunisan and international cultural scenes;

  • thorough interest for scientific discipline (computing, electronics) or artistic discipline (theater, music) or sports;
  • to be member of cultural association or organism.
LENGTH OF STUDIES

 The studies last four years and are divided in two cycles of two years each :

 The first cycle lasts two years at the end of which a first cycle diploma ( DEUPC) is delivered. It's a common trunk destined to the deepening of the general culture from linguistic, philosophical and cultural points of view.

 The second cycle lasts two years and is destined to the reinforcement of the student's creativity and the deepening of the speciality. At the end of cycle, a B.A degree (Maîtrise) is delivered in the following specialities :

         1 - Youth animation

         2 - Cultural animation

EXAM REQUIREMENTS
At the Institute, the studies are organized in modules (continuous control, yearly examinations).

The regular attendance at courses, guided works, practical works and training periods is compulsory.

The knowledge assessment is made through the continuous control and the two yearly examinations (main session and control session).

The results of the continuous control count for 1/3 of the final result. The remaining 2/3 are constituted by the end of the academic year's examinations.

There are two forms of continuous control:

        1 - Tests (2 minimum) for each subject or module. The average of these tests counts for one third of the continuous control average.

        2 - Examinations during a blocked week in the middle of the year for the yearly modules and in the middle of the semester for the half-yearly ones.
           The average of these examinations count for 2/3 of continuous control's average.

Continuous control doesn't apply to the modules of the second year (second cycle) nor to the four-year training periods.

FIELDS OF STUDY

The teaching is divided into three axis :

         1 - General teaching, theoretical and practical in the field of human sciences (psychology, sociology, education sciences), civilization, languages, anthropology,             philosophy and human rights.

         2 - Animation's techniques : various techniques: musical, dramatic, plastic, scientific, environment, health, computer science, electronics, multimedia....

         3 - Training periods aiming at getting the student used to animation work on the field and in the educative institutions in order to familiarize him with his future             profession.

  • Animation (culture and youth houses).

  • Socio-educative establishments.
  • Professional training center.
  • Touristic establishments, companies etc...

ACQUIRED SKILLS

  • Deepening of culture and creativity.

  • Mastering of the social behaviors' understanding techniques in order to determine the demand concening the animation.
  • Mastering of the appropriate intervention methodology in terms of animation.
  • Mastering of some animation techniques.
