The cytomorphologist takes samples of organs or tissue and carries out all sorts of preparations (for diagnosis or research operations), in order to study their structure and their functioning in the normal state and in various pathological situations.

At the end of his training, the cytomorphologist can practice in public or private laboratories ( clinic or research), corresponding to the following specialities : pathological anatomy and cytology, cellular biology, histology and embryology, cyto-genetic, reproduction biology.

Organization and method, attention and concentration are essential qualities for the practice of the cytomorphology.
