INTRODUCTION
"Law" doesn't lead uniquely to the professions of
lawyer and magistrate. Law intervenes in all fields : labor, health,
environment, competition, industry, services…, and covers a very great
variety of professions: lawyers, bailiffs, clerks, notaries, magistrates, fiscalists, counsels, administrative
and managerial staff… The way leading to
these careers is often long and requires a real commitment from the student,
for the jurist's training can't be improvised, but has to be built from the
early years of university. Indeed, employers, (notably the private sector), are
more and more hard to please and require a high level jurists, having solid
knowledge, and even with double competencies (law and economy or, preferably,
management, mastering foreign languages).
However, and whatever his future orientation may be, the
student should have good basic
training,
and assimilate the fundamental
teachings (civil law, constitutional law, penal law, administrative law,
commercial law…)
ACCESS TO THE DISCIPLINE
Access to
juridical discipline can be made through
the
three following modes
:
a)
The academic orientation system
: baccalaureates (Lettres and
Economy/Management) and a quota for the other baccalaureates.
b)
The competitive reorientation which is open to the holders of
baccalaureate obtained in the two years preceding the competitive
examination. The candidates are submitted to the following tests
:
c)
The students, holders of a master's degree
"maîtrise", or a similar
diploma, in another discipline may register in the first cycle.

To succeed in the juridical disciplines, it's recommended to
have good skills in languages and writing and oral expression facilities.
