The range of the hygienist's competencies is large and concerns all activities aiming to protect the environment from pollution : pollution of the air, water, food and even medical instruments by toxic products, micro-organisms (bacteria, champignon) or by vectors ( flies, mosquitoes) or by any other substance, harmful for the health.

There are numerous activities in this sector : protection and hygiene services of the Ministries, Municipalities, agencies, hotels, hospitals, certain companies…

Given the diversity of the situations and persons with whom he is due to work, the hygienist should be a good strategist and a skilled communicator.
