The closest European country, geographically, to Tunisia, is Italy. It has been present in Tunisian life for many centuries. The Italian language is a precious advantage for the knowledge of arts and literature. The fact that Italian is spoken only in Italy is largely compensated by the richness and diversity of the cultural heritage to which it permits access. As all foreign languages, it also constitutes an advantage for the business world. Indeed, Italy constitutes actually an important economic partner for Tunisia.
