The midwife carries out most of the deliveries, looks after the mother and the new born and administers to them the first aid. In case of complication, she calls the gynecologist and realizes the delivery by the appropriate means. She also carries out certain activities of birth control and the motivation of the families to apply this method.

The profession of midwife is practiced exclusively by women. She should have clinic competencies and a good practical training. Heart qualities enable her to assist they who need her during all the steps of the pregnancy, and especially at the moment of delivery. The midwife should respect the personality and the culture of the mother.
