The mission of the orthophonist consists in recognizing the
troubles of the phonation (sound production) and of verbal expression
identify the causes and administer the treatments (appropriate orthophonic
and audiologic reeducation and/or appliance). The targeted-public is composed mainly of children in schooll age handicapped by elocution difficulties in relation with audition troubles or brain dysfunctioning. Given the specificity of this category of patients, the orthophonost, in addition to his scientific and technical competence, should demonstrate that he has a capacity of psychological analysis, patience and sense of responsibility. |
