The radiology technician receives an advanced scientific and technical training as well as an initiation to morphologic sciences, pathology and treatment. He should be habilitated to carry out, alone or in presence of the physician, examinations of medical imagery (with radiography's instruments, scanner, magnetic resonance or camera). Moreover, the technician contributes to the setting up and surveillance of rays' treatments (radiotherapy), indicated for certain affections.

He can work in centers or cabinets where the instruments are available and such acts are carried out. The instruments used in medical imagery and radiotherapy are expensive and need periodic maintenance.

In the exercise of his profession, the radiology technician needs to be tactful and reserved. He will respect the sense of decency and dignity of the patients.
