Economic sciences and management       Computer science applied to management
Social and economic management

Intoduction :

The B.A. degrees (Maîtrises) in economics-management, which last four years, are structured around four main ideas :

  • A common trunk in the first year (except for computer science management and social and economic management "SEG").

  • Options in the second year allowing the student to deepen some questions.

  • A footbridge system permitting to move from one institution to another.

  • The studying of one of the numerous specialities is reserved to the second cycle.

The B.A degree (maîtrise ) in economic sciences and management counts 44 half-yearly modules: 12 modules for each of the three first years and 8 modules for the fourth year.

The common trunk :

The first year of the first cycle, faculties, high schools and institutes provide the same basic teaching useful for all the specialities that would be followed in the future by the student. This common trunk aims at delaying the precocious specialization and promote a greater adaptability of the would-be graduated.

The options :

In the second year of the first cycle, most of the teachings are a continuation of the common trunk. However, the student has the possibility to choose specific modules among the modules taught in the institution where he is affected. These optional modules will allow him to deepen some notions, but doesn't constitute necessarily his final specialization. Indeed, the student has always the possibility to change speciality (and institution) after the first cycle.

The footbridges :

At the end of the first cycle, the student has the possibility to change the institution and follow the speciality of his choice (weather it exists or not in his original institution). This possibility of affectation's change concerns the 12 establishments teaching the common trunk in economics-management. In order to put this important measure in a concrete form, it has been decided that each institution reserves 20% of its reception capacity in the third year to the students coming from other institutions. Each concerned institution will organize a competitive entrance by taking into consideration the file. This way would allow the choice of the best candidates of each institution proportionally to the number of the received demands.

 The specialities :

The holder of first cycle diploma (DEUPC) in economics-management should choose between numerous specialities. In relation with the employment market and the needs of the concerned economic sectors, the specialities' list may be enriched with new options.
